MOSCOW, Sep 26 Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov thought it would never come the day when the former world number one Swiss Roger Federer will end his professional career. On Friday, Federer played the final match of his career, at the Laver Cup paired with Spaniard Rafael Nadal, they lost to Jack Sock and Francis Tiafoe from the USA, after which a ceremony was held dedicated to the departure of 41 «I wish this day never came. Federer made his professional tennis debut in 1998, earned $130.6 million in prize money and set many records. In particular, he was the oldest first racket in the world (36 years old) and stayed at the top of the rankings for 237 weeks in a row. At the Grand Slam tournaments (20 wins), Federer won 369 matches, reached the semi-finals 46 times (23 times in a row) and played 58 times in the quarter-finals (36 times in a row). In total, the Swiss won 111 tournaments under the auspices of the ATP (103 of them in singles), became the Olympic champion (2008) in doubles and the silver medalist of the Games (2012) in singles, and also won the Davis Cup (2014).
