File photoMOSCOW, Sep 29 Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova said that the agreement between Kyiv and Washington on the non-use of American weapons for strikes on Russian territory does not apply to all types of weapons, but only to the HIMARS MLRS. Previously, the Minister of Defense Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that the United States and Ukraine have agreements according to which Ukrainians will not use weapons provided by Washington to strike at Russian territory. «This applies specifically to HIMARS,» Markarova said in an interview with European Pravda in response when asked if the restriction applies to all weapons from the United States. She also confirmed that Washington did not set any restrictions for strikes on the territory of Crimea. Earlier, Reznikov said that the Kyiv regime does not exclude the use of weapons supplied by the United States to attack Crimea. A senior official of the US administration, in a conversation with Politico, noted that the United States admits the possibility of using weapons supplied to Kyiv to carry out attacks on the Crimea, taking it for self-defense. The HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) rocket system was developed in the USA by BAE companies Systems and Lockheed Martin in 1996-2000, produced since 2003. Based on a three-axle FMTV wheeled chassis of the US Army, it can carry six rockets or one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile, the effective range for certain types of projectiles is up to 80 kilometers.
