"I evaluate the results of the work and the results of the UNESCO conference positively. Today, the final declaration of the conference was adopted by consensus, a rather voluminous and non-conflicting document, so it was supported by all the participants of the event. But already after the adoption of this document, a demarche of representatives of unfriendly countries took place", the Russian diplomat said.
According to him, the demarche was attended by the countries of the European Union, «Anglo-Saxons, Young Europeans, that is, Eastern Europe, and a number of other delegations that joined», a total of 48 countries. According to Coronelli, accusing Russia because of the events in Ukraine did not listen to the answer of the Russian delegation, which confirms their unwillingness to conduct a dialogue. «We did not leave this demarche without attention — there was a very tough and very specific answer from the head of our delegation. During the answer, the demarche participants ran out of the hall like rats, this once again confirms that other opinions and assessments they don’t want to hear,” the ambassador said. At the end of the conference, as Coronelli said, representatives of a number of delegations, including South Africa, approached the Russian delegates with words of support and approval of the work of the Russian team.
