MOSCOW, Oct 4 The Columbus Blue Jackets lost big on the road Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League (NHL) pre-season game. The meeting in Raleigh ended with a score of 8:1 (3:1, 3:0, 2:0) in favor of the hosts, in which Derek Stepan (20 minutes and 41 minutes) and Martin Necas (31, 58), Jesperi Kotkaniemi (8), Stefan Nousen (14), Brent Burns (27) and Brady Shay (32) scored one goal each. Yegor Chinakhov (6) scored a goal against the guests in the third pre-season game in a row. Chinakhov is 21 years old. He was selected by Columbus with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In the 2020/21 season, the striker won the Gagarin Cup with Avangard Omsk and received the KHL Best Rookie Award. The new NHL season starts on October 7 in Prague with a match between the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks.
