MOSCOW, Oct 4 The International Boxing Association (IBA) on the official website reported that Ukrainian athletes can compete under their own flag, despite the suspension of membership in the organization of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine (FBU). On September 23, the IBA temporarily suspended the membership of the FBU due to state interference in the work of the organization. According to the decision of the IBA Board of Directors, the Ukrainian anthem will be able to sound on competitions, and Ukrainian arbitrators will be allowed to referee. «The IBA firmly believes that athletes should not suffer, no matter the circumstances, and should be able to proudly represent their country,» the organization said in a statement. The current president of the IBA is Russian Umar Kremlev, who on May 14 in Istanbul at the congress of the organization was re-elected for a new term.
