Dina Averina got into the Russian Book of Records due to the number of victories at the World Cup

MOSCOW, Oct 6, Anastasia Panina. Multiple world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Dina Averina received a certificate from the Russian Book of Records for the record for the number of victories at world championships. Averina was awarded a certificate at the second stage of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup in Moscow on Thursday. The gymnast herself did not take part in the competition. The President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (VFHG) Irina Viner told reporters that now Dina Averina will claim international recognition in the Guinness Book of Records. Averina is 24 years old. She is a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and an 18-time world champion, including a four-time absolute world champion. She also has 10 gold medals at the European Championships. Previously, the record for the number of world championship gold medals belonged to Evgenia Kanaeva (17). In March, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) suspended Russian athletes from competitions under its auspices due to the situation in Ukraine.
