MOSCOW, Oct 12 Director of Financial Regulation of Clubs of the Union of European Football Associations ( UEFA) Sunil Gulati was accused of ignoring complaints of sexual harassment in the US National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), reports the Daily Mail. According to a report by former Acting US Attorney General Sally Yates, Gulati, as president of the US Football Federation, ignored numerous complaints of players of sexual harassment from the side of coaches in the NWSL. The American Gulati headed the US Football Federation from 2006 to 2018. He has been a UEFA member since 2021. The NWSL sex scandal took place in 2021. Paul Riley, then head coach of the North Carolina Courage, was fired from his position and stripped of his coaching license after being accused of sexually assaulting female players. The coach denied the allegations. Lisa Baird, then Commissioner of the League, resigned, and the US Football Federation launched an independent investigation. In early October, Yates and law firm King & Spalding have published a report stating systematic cases of emotional abuse and sexual harassment in the US women's league.
