Go to the media bankSt. PETERSBURG, Oct 17 Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov released from the post of head of the mobilization department Viktor Shevchenko, the official website of the administration said. «From October 17, Vladimir Buyanov, who previously worked as the first deputy head of the department, was appointed to this position,» the publication says. The reasons for Shevchenko's removal from office were not reported. Last week, some media and Telegram channels reported that residents of the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg were allegedly guarded when leaving their houses and in parks in order to hand over subpoenas as part of partial mobilization. The city administration recalled that, according to the law on military duty, citizens who are registered with the military are required to appear at the military registration and enlistment offices in a timely manner upon receipt of the summons. The authorities stressed that the employees did not commit any illegal actions. Partial mobilization has been taking place in Russia since September 21 in accordance with the decree of Vladimir Putin. Last Friday, the president announced that all events would be completed in the next two weeks.
