President of the Russian Fencing Federation (FFR) Ilgar Mammadov said that at the next congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) Russia will be supported by more than 100 countries. The next meeting of the FIE Congress will be held at the end of November in Lausanne (Switzerland). «I try not to disturb the members of the executive committee of the International Fencing Federation, because they signed something. Not only me, but you yourself understand that we receive support from other countries. More than 100 countries will support us at the next congress. But I always say such a saying: until you get on a plane, you don’t fly to the Olympics. If it happens, it will happen, but I don’t want to talk about it again,» Mammadov said. In March, the International Fencing Federation (FIE) temporarily suspended Russian athletes from participation in competitions under its auspices because of the situation in Ukraine.
