The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced actionist Pavel Krisevich to five years in a penal colony because of a performance against political repression on Red Square. Mediazone was informed about this by the press service of the court.

He carried out his action on June 11, 2021: he fired twice into the air on Red Square with noise cartridges, and then pointed a blanked pistol at himself, on the handle of which was written «control shot». The policemen threw him onto the paving stones and took him away in handcuffs.
As the actionist explained, with this performance he protested against political repressions in Russia. Before the shot, Krisevich read out a manifesto ending with the words: “We will respond to force and repression with fearlessness. Because there will be no more fear. Shots will follow in front of the Kremlin curtain.”
After his arrest, Krisevich was sent to a pre-trial detention center in the case of hooliganism with the use of weapons (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). The court removed from the charge that the crime was committed by a “group of persons by prior agreement”: Sota.Vision journalist Nika Samusik, who was filming the action, was also detained with Krysevich on Red Square, the case against her was soon dropped.
After the verdict was announced, the bailiffs two girls were taken out of the hall, shouting: “Art is not a crime! Freedom for political prisoners.”
Because of other actions, Krysevich was previously placed under administrative arrest several times. After one of them, when the actionist imitated the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in Lubyanka, he was expelled from the first year of RUDN at the end of 2021.
