Iran has been going on for a month riots that began in mid-September in connection with the death of a young Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, after she was detained by the vice police. Protests and riots are taking place mainly in the provinces of Gilan, Khuzestan, Sistan and Balochistan, Tehran and Kurdistan.China opposes unilateral sanctions on Iran»Some Western countries have taken the opportunity (to speak) at this meeting to make baseless allegations against my country. We condemn these accusations, which are nothing more than an attempt to politicize (the issue of) women's rights,» ILNA quotes Arshadi's words. She stressed that, given the hypocrisy and double standards of Western countries for human rights, Iran does not consider their statements to be true, «coming from good intentions.» «Therefore, we recommend that Western governments … do not speak on their behalf,» Arshidi added. The United States recognized the «aggressiveness» of the approach to supporting the protests in Iran. On September 13, Amini was detained in Tehran by the vice police and sent for an explanatory conversation to one of the «Faraj» centers belonging to the police department and military intelligence. In this center, the girl had a heart attack, after which she was immediately taken to the hospital. She died three days later. Residents blamed the vice police for Mahsa's death. People in different cities of the country began to gather on the streets to protest. Videos were published on social networks in which girls cut off their hair and burn the hijab or “Rusari” headscarf, which, according to the law, must cover the head of an Iranian woman. Basij militias, another 180 were stabbed. According to unofficial local media reports, 41 people were killed and about 100 people were injured. Videos of police being brutally treated and beaten by protesters were posted on social media. In addition, people staged robberies and pogroms on the streets of cities, causing damage to public and state infrastructure. So, for example, in the first days of the protests, more than 60 ambulances were smashed. In response, the Iranian authorities held large-scale demonstrations in support of the political system and the government. According to statements by the Iranian authorities, the unrest in the country was led from abroad. In this regard, the ambassadors of Great Britain and Norway, as well as the charge d'affaires of France in Tehran, were summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. A note of protest was presented by a European diplomat in connection with the propaganda of subversive, anti-Iranian messages in their media, as well as calls for the overthrow of power in Iran.
