The government has set a living wage for 2023 in new regions

MOSCOW, Dec 16 2023 in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics will be 11,213 rubles, and in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions — 11,644 rubles, the press service of the Ministry of Labor told reporters.
It is specified that the government has published a decree establishing the procedure for calculating the subsistence minimum in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In 2023, the coefficient will be 0.78 for the DPR and LPR, and 0.81 for the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. From 2024, for the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, the coefficient will be 0.94 of the federal subsistence minimum, and in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions — 0.97 of the federal subsistence minimum.

«Taking this into account, the subsistence minimum for 2023 in the DPR and LPR per capita will be 11,213 rubles, for the able-bodied population — 12,222 rubles, for pensioners — 9,643 rubles, for children — 10,877 rubles, and for Kherson and Zaporozhye regions — 11,644 rubles, for the working population — 12,692 rubles, pensioners — 10,014 rubles, children — 11,295 rubles.

The ministry explained that regional differentiation coefficients are used to establish regional subsistence minimums. The cost of living established for the entire country is multiplied by the corresponding regional factor.
The subsistence level is used to assess the means of providing social benefits, and also determines the amount of individual benefits.
