MINSK, Dec 31 Belarusian state television channel «Belarus 1» in on the eve of the New Year, the year of the Black Water Rabbit according to the eastern calendar, showed the personal farmstead of the country's President Alexander Lukashenko, who presented the journalists with rabbits from his rabbitry.
It was shown on the TV channel that chickens, turkeys and even ostriches, as well as cows, goats, horses, including ponies, live in the president's farmstead. Employees of the farmstead said that the animals not only know and are not afraid of the president, but also rejoice at his arrival. One of the employees said that «the cows just bloom» when the president arrives, they feel in advance when he will arrive, for example, to bring grass for hay, which he mows himself.
Journalists of the TV channel also visited a rabbitry where rabbits of different breeds are kept — decorative, Californian, Burgundy, German angora, French ram.
The head of state also joined the journalists there, giving the journalists a short tour. Then Lukashenka gave the journalists two rabbits — black and white, and also promised to supply them with food for the rabbits.
The President wished these rabbits to live with journalists for a long time. «If the rabbit will live this year, live well, then you will be well,» he said.
Earlier, Lukashenka spoke about his passion for agriculture. So, according to him, he grows watermelons, potatoes and other crops on the territory of his residence, and gives the harvest to orphanages and nursing homes. According to the head of state, there is nothing to reproach him with — he «as he was a simple man, a peasant,» he remained that way, and this is for him «for life.» The President also spoke about his personal farmstead, where, in particular, there are 11 cows and goats, and that visiting this farm was his «vent», including in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
