The former head of the politician's campaign headquarters, Tatiana Usmanova, told OVD-Info that he was being taken to Volgograd. On December 22, Pivovarov's associates reported that he had been transferred from the Krasnodar SIZO-1 and «should be sent to serve his sentence in a general regime colony near St. Petersburg.» On December 26, it became known that the oppositionist was brought to a transit point at IK-2 in the village of Dvubratsky, Krasnodar Territory. Then the politician told his associates that before the New Year he would be sent further — first to Saratov, and then to Voronezh.
In July, a court in Krasnodar sentenced Pivovarov to 4 years in prison in the case of the activities of Open Russia, recognized by the Ministry of Justice as an «undesirable organization» (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code).
