MOSCOW, Jan 23 Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova met with the Ambassador of Switzerland in Moscow, Christina Marty Lang, to discuss the state of human rights with her.
«I met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Russian Federation Christina Marty Lang at the House of Human Rights… We exchanged views on the current state of human rights in the European space,» Moskalkova wrote in her Telegram channel.
The Russian Ombudsman told the Ambassador about the main activities of the State Human Rights Defender Institute, about the development of international cooperation between Ombudsmen from different countries.
«We discussed the importance of the neutrality observed by the Swiss Confederation on a number of European sanctions against Russia, including the refusal to provide any military assistance to the parties to the current conflict,» Moskalkova added.
The Ombudsman also said that she wished the ambassador «speedy progress in the implementation of the idea of creating a national center for human rights», the need for which, according to Lang, is being discussed in the Swiss Parliament.
