According to the publication Politico, there are cases when the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine opposed the decisions of the command, got drunk and behaved inappropriately. Some of them abandoned their positions.
"Sometimes leaving positions is the only way to save personnel from senseless death. If they (management — ed. note) cannot deliver ammunition or <…> (to change troops), when you sit in the trenches for several days without sleep and rest, your combat value is reduced to zero, ”the publication quotes the words of a Ukrainian officer who recently left Artemivsk.
He added, that the problems with discipline in the Ukrainian army are related to the ineffectiveness of command and the burden on troops, which do not change so often.
Soldier Yevgenia Zakrevskaya, in turn, noted that in many cases it is impossible to provide soldiers with rest due to a lack of combat-ready shifts.
