
CHISINAU, March 10 Supporters and representatives of the opposition party in Moldova » Shor picketed on Friday the buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Court of Appeal in Chisinau in protest against «police arbitrariness,» the press service of the political force reported.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that attempts were being prepared in the republic to change the constitutional order with the participation of opposition forces, including the Shor party. She advocated expanding the powers of the Information and Security Service and other law enforcement agencies in the context of alleged attempts to destabilize the situation in the country. The Shor party condemned these statements, noting that the actions supported by it are taking place peacefully, without excesses.
«Shor party supporters picket the building of the Court of Appeal and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They demand fair justice, oppose police arbitrariness, political persecution of Shor party supporters, members and leadership.» Deputies of the Shor parliamentary faction Vadim Fotescu and Regina Apostolov was condemned by the militaristic statements of Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. On Sunday, a mass, peaceful action will be held in Chisinau,» the press service of the political force said.
On Friday, the Moldovan police reported that, together with the prosecutor's office for combating organized crime, they were conducting searches in the case of preparing mass riots. The day before, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced the detention of three representatives of the opposition Shor party. According to the agency, large sums of money were found in their cars — 50 thousand euros and 2.5 million lei (about 126 thousand euros), as well as lists with contact details of those who were supposed to receive the corresponding money.
