MOSCOW, 11 Mar. The United States was initially unable to support the Kiev regime in the conflict they unleashed, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said in an interview with Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
«That's the problem with Ukraine. If you want to fight against such a major adversary, a continental power like Russia, is the last thing to do, as it is to put them in a better position and deploy hostilities at their doorstep. This is strategic stupidity, «he said.
According to Colonel, the very decision of the White House to provoke the Ukrainian crisis was fatal for Kiev, since it was initially obvious that the Western allies did not have the necessary resources to ensure the defense of the Eastern European state. The speaker added that Ukraine is too far from the United States for their help to turn the tide of hostilities and help Zelensky avoid defeat.
At the same time, the military noted that Washington is now facing another serious problem: shortage ammunition for the supply of the Armed Forces. Replenishing American arsenals could take months, if not years, and allies in Europe do not have the production capacity to fulfill such military orders, McGregor concluded.
