Sales of new tires in Russia have already started: ten tire sizes from 14 to 18 inches are now available.
The Cordiant company is engaged in the production and supply of more than 400 models and sizes of tires. The list of major brands includes Cordiant (rubber for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles), Cordiant Professional and TyRex (solid steel truck tires). Today JSC «Cordiant» combines production sites in Yaroslavl and Omsk, as well as the scientific and technical center «Intyre» (located in Moscow). Now the company has talked about new summer tires — Cordiant Gravity.
According to the press service of the company, a feature of Gravity tires is the new LONG-COR technology used. It involves the use of a high content of highly active carbon black in the optimized rubber compound of the tread. This compound helps reduce wear without compromising the other properties of automotive rubber.
The new optimized profile provides even pressure distribution in the contact patch, which increases the life of the tire. In addition, due to the increase in tread depth, it was possible to increase tire mileage by 12% on average per season. According to the company, the average annual mileage of a car in Russia is about 18.7 thousand km, so wear resistance is an important factor for car owners when choosing tires.
It is also known that Gravity tire developers used Cordiant's proprietary COR technologies and innovative solutions in tire design: due to this, the manufacturer, among other things, achieved high performance in handling on dry (DRY-COR technology) and wet asphalt (WET-COR technology). In addition, when creating Cordiant Gravity tires, the developers worked on acoustic comfort: the noise level reaches 69 dB, which corresponds to the most comfortable indicator for hearing. This result, as a rule, is recorded for premium car tires.Cordiant offers Gravity summer tires for passenger cars and Gravity SUV tires for crossovers. At the same time, as the manufacturer noted, the rubber version for crossovers differs due to a different tread pattern: it was developed by specialists from the tire company's own R&D center, taking into account Russian operating conditions.
Taking into account the frequent driving on undeveloped and unpaved roads with Gravity SUV tires, it was decided to equip the central grooves of the tread with special «stone-ejecting spikes» — for quick self-cleaning of the tread from stones. Two more central ribs have bevels that increase the number of engagement faces when driving on soft soils and gravel roads. To better drain water from the contact patch, the creators increased the size of the slots in the side ribs.
Sales of new tires in the Russian Federation have already started. In general, the Cordiant Gravity line will include 24 sizes from 14 to 18 inches, of which 12 will be occupied by the Gravity SUV crossover version. At the start of sales, 10 tire sizes of the line (from 14 to 18 inches) are still available to customers.
