MOSCOW, March 21 Searches at more than 10 addresses are being carried out on Tuesday at the employees of the liquidated and recognized as a foreign agent «Memorial» * in the case of the rehabilitation of Nazism, reported Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the capital's head office of the RF IC.

"As part of the investigation of the criminal case under point "c" part 2 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rehabilitation of Nazism) … searches are being carried out at more than 10 addresses of employees of the organization "International historical, educational, charitable and human rights society "Memorial"*, Ivanova said.
Earlier, a law enforcement source unofficially announced a series of searches in this case.
The international «Memorial»* was engaged in the study of repressions in the USSR, the rehabilitation of victims and assistance to their families. In addition to him, there was the human rights «Memorial» *, which was engaged in «legal consulting, assistance to refugees and political prisoners.» Both structures were listed in the register of foreign agents for more than five years before liquidation.
At the end of 2021, the public movement «Veterans of Russia» appealed to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov and the Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin with a demand to bring the management and employees of «Memorial»* to account.
According to «Veteranov», «Memorial»* is responsible for «denial, deliberate suppression and falsification of the crimes of Nazi accomplices by perpetuating their memory as victims of political repressions in the USSR.»
