A nurse and civilian journalist from Crimea, Irina Danilovich, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in the case of explosives, went on a dry hunger strike due to the lack of medical care in the pre-trial detention center. This is reported by Krym.Realii with reference to its correspondent.
According to the text declarations of the nurse, she intends not to eat or drink until such time as she is provided with «normal medical treatment or until her death.» Danilovich cannot get help for four months. She claims that she suffered a minor stroke in the pre-trial detention center, and also has hearing problems.
“She complains very much about the terrible headaches that have haunted her for the last five months of her detention in the pre-trial detention center … For all the past almost five months she could not get through to the doctors of the pre-trial detention center with a request to provide assistance … In fact, for five months now she has been subjected to the most terrible torture, pain torture, ”the nurse’s father, Bronislav Danilovich, told reporters.
At the end of December Last year, the court sentenced the girl to seven years in prison and a fine of 50,000 rubles, finding her guilty of possession of explosives (Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). According to Danilovich, FSB agents planted explosives on her during the search.
The nurse was detained on April 29: unidentified men in civilian clothes pushed Danilovich into a car and drove away. According to lawyer Ayder Azamatov, his client was kept for a week in the basement of the FSB department in Simferopol. The defense lawyer said that the security forces demanded that Danilovich give a confession, putting a bag over his head and offering to choose «a forest or a prison.»
