UN, Mar 28 responsibility in the context of the investigation into the explosions at Nord Stream, Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative to the organization, said at a UN Security Council meeting.
«National investigations can go on for years in the same inefficient and non-transparent manner. And valuable time is wasted. And there are growing suspicions that efforts in these investigations are aimed not at clarifying the circumstances of the sabotage, but at covering up evidence and clean up the crime scene,» Nebenzya said.
«We believe that the Council is responsible to the international community for such attacks,» he stressed.
Nebenzia pointed out that the draft resolution of the Russian Federation, which the Security Council did not adopt on Monday, did not limit the national investigations of Denmark, Sweden, Germany.
According to the permanent representative, its adoption would send a clear signal that such sabotage against cross-border infrastructure is unacceptable, and those responsible for them should be held accountable.
