MOSCOW, Mar 29 The growth of real wages over the past 5 years in Russia, according to preliminary data, amounted to 22.1%, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova .
«As you have already noted, according to preliminary information from Rosstat, but so far without taking into account the final data on small and medium-sized enterprises, the real average monthly accrued wages in 2022 compared to 2021 decreased slightly — by 1%. At the same time, the fourth quarter shows an increase in real wages,» Golikova said at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with government members.

According to her, even according to preliminary data, the growth of real wages was noted in 22 regions. The largest in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and the Republic of Buryatia. If we talk about the federal districts, then the growth of real wages is demonstrated by the Siberian and Ural federal districts.

«Traditionally, in May, Rosstat will update the data on wages and we expect that in general, in 2022, there will be a slight increase in real wages,» Golikova stressed.
According to the forecast, she added Deputy Prime Minister, «taking into account the measures that are planned for implementation in 2023, a steady increase in real wages and real incomes of the population is expected in the Russian Federation as a whole.»
