MOSCOW, April 2 Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko sent congratulatory telegrams to the leadership of Belarus on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries, the senator stressed that our strong friendship is a reliable basis for alliance and partnership.
In her congratulations to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Matvienko noted that this is a significant date in our common history and a vivid symbol of the Russian-Belarusian brotherhood. «History has repeatedly proven that only together we can adequately respond to any challenges and threats. Experienced by joy and grief, our strong friendship is a reliable basis for alliance and partnership,» the speaker emphasized, her words are quoted by the press service of the chamber.
According to the legislator, today, when the international community is going through a difficult period of conflicts and crises, the unity of Russia and Belarus is of particular value. The Republic of Belarus is a truly friendly state to Russia, the head of the Federation Council noted. «Common achievements in the strengthening of the Union State are a model for the development of integration processes in the Commonwealth of Independent States,» the message of congratulations says.
In a telegram to the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalya Kochanova, Matviyenko noted her readiness to maintain a high level of interaction and make every effort to develop a dialogue between legislators. According to her, the creative potential of inter-parliamentary relations is especially in demand in the current conditions of comprehensive strengthening of relations between the two countries at all levels.
Matvienko expressed confidence that the 10th anniversary forum of the regions of Russia and Belarus, which will be held in Ufa in the summer of 2023, will give a new impetus to the expansion of interregional cooperation and, as part of it, it will be possible to meet with participants in the youth patriotic project «Memory Train».
In a telegram to the chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic, Vladimir Andreichenko, the speaker noted that «the accumulated rich experience of inter-parliamentary dialogue will continue to contribute to the creation of a solid foundation for ensuring peace, stability, economic growth and prosperity of the two states for the benefit of the fraternal peoples.»
Matvienko believes that thanks to the constructive bilateral cooperation between Russia and Belarus, an effective regulatory and legal framework has been created, mutually beneficial integration mechanisms have been developed to form the socio-economic and humanitarian space of the Union State. «In the face of new challenges and threats, the desire to live in good neighborliness has rallied people even more in building an independent, democratic and prosperous society,» she stressed.
In congratulating the peoples of the two countries, the Chairman of the Federation Council expressed confidence that in the future the strategic partnership and alliance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus would develop consistently and dynamically.
