MOSCOW, April 3 Coach of the Magnitogorsk hockey club Metallurg Ilya Vorobyov said goodbye to the team and the city after the announcement of his dismissal.
On Monday, at the club's press conference following the season results, Metallurg's first vice-president Sergei Laskov, who also left his post, said that the contract with Vorobyov had been terminated by mutual agreement of the parties.

Vorobiev is 48 years old, he started his coaching career in 2012 at Metallurg as an assistant head coach. He took charge of the team in October 2015, was sacked in November 2017, then returned to the club in 2019. Together with Metallurg, Vorobyov became a two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup (as an assistant head coach and as a head coach), as well as a two-time silver medalist of the Russian championship. As a head coach, Vorobyov played 442 matches at the club and scored 258 victories, according to this indicator, he ranks second in the history of the team.
Vorobiev also worked as the head coach of SKA St. Petersburg in the 2018/19 season, under his leadership the team reached the semi-finals of the Gagarin Cup, and led the Russian team, which he led to the bronze medals of the 2019 World Championship.
