The US Department of Defense expressed confidence in the effectiveness of protecting data from a balloon launched by China
The balloon that was shot down by the US Air Force in early February 2023 was collecting intelligence. This was stated by Deputy Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh.
However, the representative of the US military department noted that the Pentagon is convinced of the effectiveness of the measures that were taken to protect data from China's balloon.
As Singh noted, the measures taken by the US Department of Defense prevented the balloon from collecting more important information about secret military facilities on US soil. But Singh did not confirm the fact that the balloon could transfer part of the collected information to China.
