Sevastopol police detained a pensioner who wrote pro-Ukrainian slogans on buildings

In Sevastopol, Interior Ministry officers detained a 58-year-old local resident who left pro-Ukrainian inscriptions on local buildings. Information about this was published on the website of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the security forces, the pensioner said that over the past few months she had applied pro-Ukrainian inscriptions on urban infrastructure, including the slogans “Glory to Ukraine” and “Sevastopol it is Ukraine». By her actions, she expressed her disagreement with the invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine.

Later, the woman took photographs of the inscriptions and sent them to her daughter, who lives abroad, to be posted on Ukrainian Telegram channels, in particular, on the channel of the Zhovta Strichka movement. This is a resistance movement in the occupied territories, created in April 2022.

Currently, the police are conducting a pre-investigation check — a criminal case can be initiated against the pensioner for vandalism motivated by political hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code). The woman was identified from records from street cameras.

Pro-Kremlin telegram channel “Sevastopol. SMERSH published a video of the pensioner's apology, presumably filmed at the police department. In the video, she calls «to refrain from participating in such actions organized by the Ukrainian special services.»
