Petersburg police detained a man who called Russians “complete fascists” during a road conflict

A man suspected of insulting the feelings of believers (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code) and attacking police officers (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) was detained in St. Petersburg, the press service of the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

In the footage of a video published by the security forces, a man in handcuffs and with his hands behind his back talks about a «traffic incident», as a result of which he «spoke out without thinking.»

“I am very sorry. I apologize to Christians,” he says.

The initiation of a criminal case against the Petersburger became known at the end of March. According to the Investigative Committee, on March 28, a man stopped one of the cars on the roadway of Komendantsky Prospekt due to a traffic conflict. During the conversation, the detainee called Russians and Christians «complete fascists.» The conversation got on the DVR, later the video appeared on the Internet.

“I fuck how fucked you are. Here you are, Christians, you are Russians, damn it, you are finished fascists, I tell you honestly. You are bombing children, Ukraine. You are complete fascists in relation to us even: at the expense of us you live, fucking, at the expense of Caucasians. For example, I served for three years, bitch,” the video says.

The investigation believes that the man’s words contain “expressions of an extremely negative (hostile) attitude towards representatives of a group of persons united on the basis of belonging to a religion.” After the conversation, the suspect left, later the police tried to detain him, but he «resisted and fled.»

In a video published by the St. Petersburg police, a man said that he had been in Vsevolozhsk for several days, and was detained on the platform of the Nevskaya Dubrovka railway station.

Telegram channel Baza and pro-Kremlin blogger Uncle Slava wrote that the detainee's name was Vahid Javadly. According to them, he is the nephew of Sayad Aliyev, a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region from United Russia. The parliamentarian, in a conversation with Fontanka, did not confirm, but did not deny the information about family ties with the suspect: “Listen, my nephews are half the city. Even if a relative… I think the police will figure it out: relative, brother, sister or who he is.” Later, Aliyev said that Javadly was not his relative.
