SARATOV, Apr 10Investigators opened a criminal case against a student of a secondary school in Samara on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to a classmate whom he attacked with a knife during a quarrel in class, the regional department of the RF IC reported.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a student born in 2007 in a Samara school was hospitalized after a conflict with a peer. The government of the region noted that the situation at school No. 91, where there was a conflict between students, was reported to Governor Dmitry Azarov. The mayor's office clarified that the student wounded his classmate with a penknife.

The sanctions of this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provide for punishment of up to 10 years in prison.
According to investigators, on Monday, during a lesson in the classroom, the suspect, during a quarrel with a classmate, took out a penknife from his pocket and inflicted at least two blows in the back of his opponent, who was hospitalized with injuries in medical institution.
The prosecutor's office of the region in its telegram channel specified that it took control of the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case, and also organized a prosecutor's check on the fact of the incident at the school.
«In the course of a set of supervisory measures, the prosecutor's office will evaluate the actions of officials of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency, as well as school employees, in which the incident occurred, and the parents of the children,» the statement said.
It is clarified that there is no threat to the life of the victim.
