MOSCOW, April 11 The organizer of the postponed concert in Voronezh, Philip Kirkorov, demands to recover 4.5 million rubles from the singer, the Arbitration Moscow court.
Kirkorov's concert was supposed to take place on 26 October. However, against the backdrop of the story with the number «Mary Magdalena», it was canceled by local authorities. Later, the artist still performed in Voronezh, but on February 19.
The lawsuit filed by Cultural Service LLC, which organized the concert in Voronezh, was registered in the file cabinet of the Moscow Arbitration Court. As explained in court, the company, in connection with the cancellation of the show, demands to recover more than 4.5 million rubles from Kirkorov. A court hearing has been scheduled for May 11.
“Apparently, this is already becoming a kind of folk fun — to try to sue something from Philip Kirkorov. As far as I know, the contracts always contain clauses on the possible postponement of the concert. So, if the concert was postponed, then taking into account all the agreements with the organizers. I can say more precisely when I see the lawsuit itself,” said Alexander Dobrovinsky, the singer’s representative, head of the Alexander Dobrovinsky and Partners law firm.
In March, Moscow's Tagansky Court dismissed a claim by Orthodox activist Mikhail Feodoridi to recover one ruble from Filipp Kirkorov in his favor as compensation for moral damages for using a cross and insulting religious feelings during a concert in the Kremlin.
Last year, the People's Artist of Russia at a concert in honor of his 55th birthday in the Kremlin Palace performed the number «Mary Magdalena».
During the performance, a huge luminous cross with an actress «crucified» inside appeared on the stage. Kirkorov, singing a song, walked on this cross.
Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Church Relations with Society and the Media Vladimir Legoyda, commenting on the issue, said that everyone should be more sensitive to the feelings of others.
Later, the artist apologized on his Telegram channel and explained that this song is dedicated to his mother. The singer noted that he is a believer and did not put «any evil or blasphemous intent» into the direction of the act, which is important for him as a believer and religious shrines are revered.
