
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Apr 15 An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 was recorded fifty kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky late Saturday evening, the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
«Distance from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: 55 kilometers. Depth: 88.5 kilometers. Magnitude: 4.8,» the telegram channel said.
The shock occurred at 23.35 local time (14.35 Moscow time) in the Pacific Ocean southeast of the capital of the region.
In the comments to the message of the Geophysical Service, residents of Kamchatka write that the shocks were felt in some areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
«Calls to the EDDS of the municipal districts of the Kamchatka Territory were not received from citizens,» the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
