Albania canceled the visa-free regime for Russians; Previously, Russian citizens could enter the country from May to September without additional documents

The Council of Ministers of Albania adopted a resolution according to which the visa-free regime for entry into the country is canceled for Russian citizens. This was reported on the website of the Albanian embassy in Russia.

Previously, Russians could visit Albania without visas from May 1 to September 30 of each year. Now, to enter the country in any season, it will be necessary to apply for a visa indicating the purpose of the trip.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, on March 19, 2022, North Macedonia also canceled the visa-free regime with Russia, follows from the list of countries published Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. Also in September last year, the EU stopped an agreement on simplified visas for Russians.

In addition, Russian citizens with Schengen visas were banned from visiting the Baltic countries and Poland, and the Czech Republic banned Russians with tourist visas from entering.
