DONETSK, May 1. In ten minutes, Ukrainian troops fired a total of eight shells of «NATO» caliber 155 millimeters at Yelenovka and Blagodatny, the representative office of the Donetsk People's Republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
«Fire was recorded from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Armed Forces of Ukraine — ed.) in the direction: 11.40 — the settlement of Novomikhailovka — the settlement of Yelenovka: five shells with a caliber of 155 millimeters were fired; 11.50 — the settlement of Elizavetovka — the settlement of Blagodatnoye: fired three projectile with a caliber of 155 millimeters,» the representative office said in a Telegram channel.
The urban-type settlement of Yelenovka is located about 10 kilometers south of Donetsk.
The village of Blagodatnoye in the DPR is located to the west of Soledar.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range M777 howitzers with a caliber of 155 millimeters, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
