ROSTOV -ON-DON, May 4. A delegation from the Rostov region plans to take part in the second Russia-Africa summit in July this year, the government of the Rostov region reports.
The second Russia-Africa summit will be held in St. Petersburg from 26 to 29 July. It will discuss cooperation in all areas.
«In July, the Rostov region will take part in the second Russia-Africa summit. At present, the Ministry of Economic Development of the region is actively working in preparation for participation in this international event,» the message says.
In particular, within the framework of the national project «International Cooperation and Export», online conferences are being held with Russian trade representatives in the republics on the African continent.
Thus, earlier the «Hour with the Russian Trade Representative in Egypt» was held, the meeting was moderated by the Minister of Economic Development of the region Maxim Papushenko. «Egypt is one of the leading counterparty countries of the Rostov region, according to the results of 2022, it ranks second after Turkey in terms of foreign trade turnover and exports,» Papushenko said, noting the growth in exports last year.
He recalled that in 2021 and 2022, the Export Support Center of the Rostov Region organized the participation of small and medium-sized businesses in the Food Africa and EGYPS 2022 Egypt Petroleum show exhibitions, which were held in Cairo. In December of this year, the delegation of the Rostov region is scheduled to participate in the eighth annual exhibition of the food industry and agro-industrial sector Food Africa-2023 in the capital of Egypt. At present, the government of the region is considering the possibility of opening an «office of presence» of the enterprises of the Rostov region in Egypt.
Another online meeting was organized with the Russian Trade Representative in Algeria.
According to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Rostov Region, such meetings allow presenting the products of Rostov enterprises to potential buyers in friendly countries and contribute to the development of foreign trade cooperation between the Rostov Region and foreign partners.
