A military court in Moscow sentenced a serviceman to 13 years in prison in a case of treason

The Second Western District Military Court in Moscow sentenced serviceman Artem Semyonov to 13 years in a strict regime colony in a case of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). This is reported by Interfax and TASS with links to their correspondents.

Semenov was also stripped of his military rank of sergeant. At the same time, the court did not impose a fine or other restrictions on him in connection with his financial situation, Interfax reports.

In the final part, the judge announced that the serviceman was detained on March 30, 2022. Prior to that, he served in a military unit located in the Belgorod region. The details of the case are unknown. As the court clarified, the crime imputed to Semyonov was committed before the start of the war in Ukraine.

There is a case card on the court's website, from which it follows that the materials were received by the court only on April 12. Yesterday, May 4, during the only scheduled and held meeting, the judge retired to the deliberation room to pass the verdict.
