In St. Petersburg, public utilities workers painted over the installation of the Yav art group, which appeared in the morning in the arch of the former House of Culture on the Obvodny Canal embankment. This was reported by the correspondent of the city publication MR7.
The work called Russian Cyberpunk was the silhouettes of three men who had white prostheses attached in place of the limbs, painted with blue floral ornaments under the Gzhel painting .
The authors of the work said that they were inspired by the anti-war exposition of the Military History Museum in Dresden, «illuminating the horrors of World War II and how the Germans returned from it.» The installation with prostheses was removed four hours after the Yavi participants posted the photos on their Telegram channel.
The Yav group began doing street work in St. Petersburg in 2015. Its participants said that they were «always mostly about politics.» In August 2022, the artists were detained while painting the inscription «Gulag» in the form of the Google logo on the fence.
