WASHINGTON, May 10 The United States believes that China continues to modernize its military at «an alarming pace» and develop weapons capable of striking at ever greater distances, Gen. Glen Vanherke, head of the US Northern Command, said Tuesday.
«Beijing continues its ambitious military modernization of its armed forces at an alarming rate. It would be naive to think that their sprint to develop advanced cyberspace tools and hypersonic technologies is only aimed at regional application,» Wanher told the US Senate Armed Services Committee .
According to an American general, China «continues to develop strategic weapons and infrastructure necessary to project military power over ever greater distances.»
