The FSB reported on the detention in North Ossetia of a 19-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg, suspected of intending to fight against Russia in Ukraine. This was first reported by the regional edition «15th Region».
According to the security forces, the Uralian reached Vladikavkaz in order to leave for Georgia «to meet with a representative of an armed formation.» With the alleged recruiters, according to the FSB, the young man communicated via Telegram. A case of attempted treason was initiated against a Yekaterinburg citizen (Article 275 with the application of Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code). There is no information about the measure of restraint taken against him.
Similar cases of attempts to leave for Ukraine in order to fight on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have recently been initiated by the security forces in Stavropol, Sakhalin, the Belgorod region and other regions of Russia.
