NYT: AFU military spoke about the horror after the collision with Russian tanks and artillery shelling
Ukrainian army soldiers who recently returned from Artemivsk (Bakhmut) spoke about the horror they experienced during a collision with Russian tanks, as well as constant shelling from artillery.
“Russian tanks are a nightmare for us. Artillery fire, rocket and air strikes do not stop even for a minute. Every meter of the city is under fire,” the commander of the 24th motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told the publication.
He stressed that the troops stationed in Artemovsk need as many American Javelin anti-tank systems as possible, since the Ukrainian troops do not have ammunition enough.
A day earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the assault detachments, with support from the flanks of the Airborne Forces units, would liberate another quarter in the northwestern part of Artemovsk.
