The Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow registered a petition from the investigation to arrest Babkin A.E. in the case of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). Mediazona found such information in the database of Moscow courts.

Over the past month, the Lefortovo court arrested four defendants in cases under the article on treason. These are Plyske Yu.V., Rasulov R.N., Boyko E.Yu. and Dovgan A.S. The materials on such cases are classified, so it is impossible to find out any details of the prosecution.
At the end of April, Vladimir Putin approved amendments that increased the maximum sentence under the article on treason — now, instead of 20 years in prison, the courts will be able to impose terms of up to life imprisonment on the accused.
