Peter Kucherenko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, died suddenly on May 20.
According to the department, the official was returning from Cuba, where was on a business trip as part of the Russian delegation. On the way back, he became ill, the flight captain made an emergency landing in Mineralnye Vody, but the doctors were unable to save the patient.
«We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Pyotr Alexandrovich,» said the colleagues of the deceased.
Causes of death are not given in the ministry's announcement.
