MOSCOW, May 19. Austrian actor Helmut Berger died at the age of 78 in Salzburg, writes ORF.

In the 2000s, he practically retired and took care of his mother. In the 2010s, he devoted more time to the profession. In 2013, he took part in the reality show Survival. However, due to health problems, he soon left. In 2014, he appeared in a biopic about Saint Laurent. At the age of 73, in 2018, he made his stage debut in Berlin.
In 2019, the artist announced his retirement.
