
MOSCOW, May 19th. «Night of Immersion», an exhibition of museum VR mechanics created by the agency, will be held at the State Historical Museum on Red Square in Moscow on May 20 and will be one of the highlights of the «Night of Museums» event.
During the Night of Museums event, GIM guests will be able to see and try out the best museum VR mechanics, which have been presented more than once at large-scale Russian and international cultural forums, are part of museum expositions and exhibitions. You will be able to visit the Nights of Immersion VR stations on Saturday from 12:00 to 23:00.
The expositions of the «Night of Diving» will be located in the legendary «Ceremonial Hall» and «Polovtsian Yard» of the State Historical Museum. Visitors will be able to see exhibition versions of six historical journalistic VR projects created together with scientists from various Russian museums, and the announcement of the premiere of 2023 — the project «The Game of Crafts. VR-immersion in the world of folk crafts».

«The Museum of Disappeared Paintings»— an amazing VR space where, together with experts from federal and regional museums and foundations, irretrievably lost masterpieces were recreated. Pictures that disappeared in fires, in wars, became victims of looters and political repressions. received a second life in the format of virtual reality. The VR Museum contains restored samples of Russian art — ancient icons and paintings by Russian artists. Nothing remains of most of the paintings except for rare mentions in the archive, but thanks to modern technology, you can see the lost masterpieces again and learn about their tragic fate.
«Kruzenshtern. Around the World» Hope”»is a documentary VR quest created with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and with the expert participation of scientists from the State Historical Museum. The project is dedicated to the great round-the-world expedition of Ivan Kruzenshtern, tells about the voyage that opened a new era in the history of the Russian fleet. The user will visit Kronstadt, China, the island of Nuku-Khiva and off the coast of the United States, go to Japan, find himself in a closed port and the local coastal market, «meet» Emperor Alexander I, the great Russian sailors-explorers Thaddeus Bellingshausen, Nikolai Rezanov, Yuri Lisyansky and Ivan Kruzenshtern himself.
«VR Archeology: Secrets of the Kulikovo Field»— a unique simulator of an archaeological expedition, prepared specifically for the State Museum-Reserve «Kulikovo field». The user will be able to try on the role of a modern archaeologist, restorer and reenactor. In the exhibition version of the project, the user gets the opportunity to be at the Kulikovo field shooting range and hone the skills of shooting from a combat bow at different types of targets. The project is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the archaeological expedition of the State Museum «Kulikovo field» and was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as part of the celebration of the 650th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo. The virtual reality platform was designed in the Tula representative office of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve — in the Scientific Center «Archaeology and Restoration».
«Nuremberg: VR dictate of peoples»— a large-scale virtual reality project dedicated to the Nuremberg Court, which has become a joint work of historians, museum experts and actors of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater with the support of the Russian Military Historical Society. The user of this VR quest in the documentary detective genre plays the role of a journalist or investigative blogger whose task is to collect evidence to prove the guilt of key Nazi criminals — the leaders of the Third Reich.
«Lunar station 2038. Forecast-reconstruction» is a project that annually becomes part of the exhibition space in the Cosmonautics and Aviation pavilion at VDNH, where the user can step on the surface of the far side of the Moon, feeling like in a real lunar spacesuit, see what the first international lunar base looks like and find out why its creation is so important for all earthlings. The project was created on the basis of real-life developments, drawings and expert calculations.
Visitors will be among the first to see the trailer of the new project «The Game of Crafts. VR-immersion in the world of folk crafts», created jointly with the Heritage and Traditions Association with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The project tells about the unique artistic traditions, techniques and canons of traditional arts from different territories of the country and places of existence of centuries-old art crafts. The project will give users the opportunity to transform the play space, in which modern objects are combined with elements of the intangible heritage of the peoples of Russia and will be available to a wide audience this summer. The key principle of the event is maximum openness for visitors, to whom not only museums, but also theaters, galleries and exhibition centers open their doors this night.
In Russia, the action «Night museums» has been held regularly since 2002. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the portal of cultural heritage and traditions of Russia «Culture.RF».
In 2023, in addition to the State Historical Museum, dozens of cultural institutions will take part in the action, including the Museum-estate of F. I. Chaliapin , Borodino Military Historical Museum-Reserve, A.P. Chekhov House-Museum and others.
