DONETSK, May 23. Ukrainian troops shelled the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic 16 times over the past day, firing 88 units of various ammunition , according to the Telegram channel of the DPR representative office in the JCCC.

The areas of four settlements of the republic were under fire: Gorlovka, Kashtanovoe, Donetsk and Harvest.

Artillery of 155 mm caliber is in service with NATO countries. The United States, Canada and Australia have supplied Ukraine with dozens of M777 long-range howitzers, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine use to shell cities and towns in the DPR, including Donetsk. Also, the Kiev troops received German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
