The Kuibyshevsky District Court of Irkutsk sentenced prisoners who beat other convicts and used sexual violence against them to terms of up to 11 years in prison. This was reported by Sibir.Realii with reference to lawyer Dmitry Dmitriev.
The defendants with the names Kurbatov and Gagarin were sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime colony, and Slavgorodsky, Nepomnyashchikh and Olennikov were given 10 years in prison. They were found guilty of sexualized violence (Article 132 of the Criminal Code) and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm (Article 111 of the Criminal Code).
As Dmitriev noted, 500 thousand rubles were also collected from each of them.
In January 2021, it became known that the Investigative Committee opened a case on sexual violence against Kezhik Ondar, a prisoner in SIZO-1 of Irkutsk. The victim's sister said that his brother was placed in a «press hut», where his cellmates «beat, tortured, mocked him, kept him tied for days, mutilated his penis, put a boiler in the anus, and it exploded in it.»
At the same time, Yevgeny Yurchenko, who was released, also spoke about torture. According to him, more than 30 people from IK-15 were sent to the Angarsk SIZO-6, where they were raped and tortured. Yurchenko noted that he was “tied to a hanger by hand, and the current was attached to the genitals, in short. <…> They were all raped to the last man…”
