MOSCOW, May 28. Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk said that did not expect a whistle after the French Open match in Paris, and noted that the fans should be ashamed of it.
On Sunday Kostyuk lost to Belarusian Arina Sobolenko in the first round of Roland Garros with a score of 3:6, 2:6. After the meeting, the stands booed the Ukrainian for refusing the traditional handshake. Spectators expressed their reaction especially noisily when Kostyuk left the court.

The Ukrainian tennis player said that she would no longer shake hands with Russian and Belarusian athletes, and also added that she expected another reaction to this at Wimbledon.
“I said I wouldn’t do it, and I don’t know why people think that I should suddenly change their minds. When I was in the UK last year, people reacted differently,” said Kostyuk.
