MOSCOW, May 31. Head of Vladimir Zelensky's Office Andriy Yermak said that Ukraine, together with its allies, is planning a world summit without Russia in order to gain support for Kiev's plan to end the conflict.
On Tuesday, the deputy head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, Igor Zhovkva, said that when implementing the Kyiv plan, the Ukrainian authorities admit the possibility of negotiations with the participation of a representative from Russia.
As the Wall Street Journal notes, referring to Yermak's words, «Ukraine and its allies are planning a summit of world leaders that would exclude Russia.» The publication writes that the goal of the summit may be to increase support for Kyiv's plan to end the conflict from the world community.
«We need a unified plan for a responsible civilized world that really wants to live in peace,» the newspaper quoted Yermak, who added that direct negotiations with Russia were not yet possible.
According to Yermak, Ukraine is ready to conduct a dialogue «with all countries» and hear their opinions, including representatives of China and Brazil. According to the Wall Street Journal, Kyiv has made concerted efforts in recent months to engage with countries such as China, Brazil and India.
Zelensky in November 2022 said that Kyiv has its own «peace plan», consisting of 10 points. Among them — ensuring nuclear, food and energy security, the exchange of «held persons» according to the formula «all for all», the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Zelensky again recalled that Kyiv insists on providing him with international security guarantees and developed a draft of the corresponding document. He added that Kyiv wants to achieve the creation of an international mechanism to compensate the country for losses from hostilities at the expense of Russian assets.
Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there are no prerequisites for the transition of the situation in Ukraine to a peaceful course, the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation, at the moment this is possible only by military means. They added that the Russian Federation highly appreciates the efforts of all countries that are trying to bring the solution to the conflict in Ukraine in a peaceful direction, but so far this is impossible. As stated in the Kremlin, the situation in Ukraine can move into a peaceful direction, provided that the de facto situation and new realities are taken into account, all Moscow's demands are well known.
