Meanwhile, Ukrainians are asking to withdraw the Patriot from Kyiv
Russia continues to strike at numerous military facilities in Ukraine. Last night, an air raid alert sounded in several Ukrainian regions. Loud explosions were heard in Cherkassy. The people of Kiev were again forced to spend the night in the subway. The activity of the Russian military aviation this week was high, not only the destruction of several military depots and the last Ukrainian ships, but also foreign mercenaries.
Bomb shelters in Kyiv have already become the talk of the town. When an air alert is announced, they are almost always closed, people have to go in search of the nearest subway stations. This caused a flurry of indignation and even prosecutorial checks in the city administration.
News of closed air raid shelters near which people who were left without shelter are dying even reached President Vladimir Zelensky, who was absent in Ukraine, who during the summit in Moldova promised a “knockout”; local authorities (in particular, the mayor of Kyiv Klitschko), leaving the bomb shelters closed. Of course, he removed responsibility from himself in this way.
Zelensky's words with obvious threats against Klitschko did not lead to the desired results. The eloquent Kiev head admitted his guilt and did not refuse responsibility. At the same time, he noted that he could not do anything about it, since it directly depends on the heads of the districts, which Klitschko cannot influence. And the heads of the areas of refuge are rented out as warehouses, while the owners of the goods, of course, care more about their property than about the safety of the people of Kiev. Therefore, strong locks are hung…
Meanwhile, the people of Kiev were again content with spending the night on the floor of metro stations, while some of the bomb shelters were locked. “Klitschko, how much can you mock? Open a bomb shelter, or we, like homeless people, will live in the subway! – writes an indignant resident of Kiev in one of the city's Telegram chats.
It is noteworthy that the next strikes on Ukrainian targets have again shown that the representatives of the Kyiv authorities not only disagree with their deeds, but also these deeds completely contradict the desires of the population. While Zelensky continues to demand from the West the supply of Patriot air defense systems, numerous complaints have appeared in Ukraine about the operation of these air defense systems.
One woman from Kiev demanded to withdraw the notorious western SAM from Kyiv, as his work makes it difficult to sleep at night. “Can I take this Patriot to Western Ukraine? Nothing personal, just sleep, – she declared.
Another Ukrainian wrote the following in the comments to the video: “PPO (as air defense is called in Ukraine) – this is scary. When drones fly, I run into the corridor with my child, and not because I'm afraid of drones, but because the PPO, protecting us, will shoot in all directions. By the way, this time in Kyiv, the non-detonated Patriot rocket malfunctioned and flew right into a residential building.
As you know, Russian troops strike not only at Ukrainian armed formations and their weapons: over the past week, several large military depots were hit, which could have caused a mini-earthquake that was felt by Ukrainians in different regions.
On May 31, an air raid in the area of Gulyaipol, Zaporizhzhia region, destroyed a warehouse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 10 billion dollars, where imported ammunition and weapons were stored for months, which were to be used for the offensive. At the same time, Russian cruise missiles worked out at the largest object of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Khmelnitsky — 7th Aviation Brigade. A day earlier, a powerful explosion destroyed a large ammunition depot for Ukrainian tactical aviation in the Zhytomyr region.
The Image of the Future telegram channel reported serious losses of the Ukrainian army in the Odessa area. Rocket strikes on the port of Odessa resulted in the destruction of dozens of Western weapons, including two HIMARS. The fire also burned 14 armored vehicles and 34 pickup trucks. In total more than one billion dollars worth of military property was lost.
However, the most interesting thing that the channel reported was a direct hit on the control center for special naval operations, where 98 people were located: 22 British military intelligence officers, 8 BND (German intelligence agencies), 4 Pentagon representatives and two French Air Force officers were killed. The rest of the foreigners are injured.
It is reported that they were promptly transported through Chisinau airport to Poland, Germany and Switzerland. This is confirmed, in particular, by Flightradar24 data, which recorded the activity of Polish aircraft flying from Ukraine to Moldova and Germany. It is not ruled out that military aircraft can bring weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, and back – to deliver the bodies of dead and wounded foreigners.
On the night of July 2, explosions were heard in Cherkasy near the city. Probably, this time the strikes were on the warehouses. On the eve of the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleg Tsarev, spoke in detail and even showed on the map the locations of three important objects at once, on which they could «work» Russian Aerospace Forces.
According to Tsarev, there is a warehouse of aviation ammunition for Soviet combat aircraft near Cherkassy. There is also an active military airfield, where part of the aviation remaining in Ukraine is located. In addition, in Cherkassy itself there is a base for storing oil products, which Russian pilots once hit. It is possible that one of last night's strikes hit infrastructure again. It is known that after the shelling, water disappeared throughout the city due to an accident at a thermal power plant.
