The army is tasked with «destroying the hornet's nest»
Waiting for Ukraine to say «we started the offensive» makes sense only when – and if – The Armed Forces of Ukraine will succeed in any area. But the attack is already underway. It just doesn't look like it does in war films, but the way it should look in a modern hybrid conflict.
Now the hottest spot is the long-suffering Shebekino. On the first day of summer, about 750 shells and mines flew here. Civilians are dying. Only on Friday, two women were killed and two more people were injured as a result of shelling in the village of Maslova Pristan, Shebekinsky district, said the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov. Attempts of breakthroughs by armed groups from Ukraine do not stop.
During the day, in addition to the Belgorod region, four more regions were attacked. In the Kursk region, several UAVs were shot down (preliminarily, rushing to the airfield). In Smolensk, two long-range drones attacked fuel and energy facilities. In the Kaluga region, a drone fell and exploded in the forest. Two villages were shelled in the Bryansk region.
In all cases (as, by the way, in the case of the drone raid on Moscow), Ukraine either remains silent or pretends that some “Russian nationalists” carry out all attacks. This is part of NATO's hybrid warfare strategy. On the website of this organization, you can, for example, find the article «Hybrid War – new threats, complexity and «trust» as an antidote («Hybrid Warfare» New Threats, Complexity, and «Trust» as the Antidote). It says that «hybrid warfare makes the dynamics of conflict unclear not only because it offers a large and expanding set of tools to undermine the enemy's position, but also because it allows him to undermine his security on two fronts at the same time.»
< p> That is attacks on frontier and deep into the country two purposes are pursued at once. First, the physical «pulling» forces and means, confusing us as to where the main blow will be.
Second, by not taking responsibility for the attacks, Ukraine is trying (as the article says) to undermine in Russia the “social contract that binds the state and its constituents together.” To show that there are some «Russian nationalists» who want to «liberate the country». To inspire us that there is a split in society, and the state is unable to ensure security and its very functioning.
It is worth noting that Russia is not sitting idly by, but is in «active defense», also using the methods of hybrid conflict. If we do not take our rocket attacks, then the simplest example – Marinka, which the Akhmat subdivisions were tasked to liberate. Putin, as you know, regularly communicates with the commanders of units «on the ground.» But now his conversation with the commander of the special forces «Akhmat» Apty Alaudinov was widely used.
Since “the situation is personally monitored by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” it means that the Maryinsky direction is given special importance. And Zelensky is very fond of beautiful “overcomes” from the point of view of PR. He bought into the «symbolic meaning» Bakhmut and sent tens of thousands of soldiers to the meat grinder. This is already our «pulling» and confusing the enemy.
Another revealing moment. Dmitry Medvedev put on a military uniform. The maximum that was from the «militant» before that, – leather bomber jacket. But the most interesting – he began to talk about the destruction of Ukrainian terrorists and the «extermination of the hornet's nest», the Kyiv regime, no longer «an indefinite circle of persons»; in his telegram channel, but to direct fighters, our military. And that means it's true – began. The summer will be hot.
Tank wedges, the rumble of bombers, beams of searchlights cutting the dark sky, a fiery shaft of salvo fire systems – perceived by the layman picture of the offensive – All this is also very likely to happen. But it is not a fact that it will be exactly where the main blow will be dealt. These are the dark and confusing realities of hybrid conflict.
