
MOSCOW, June 3 French businessman Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, widely known as the prototype of the protagonist from the movie «1 + 1», has died at the age of 72, Agence France-Presse reports with reference to one of the directors of the film, Eric Toledano.
«He died last night in Marrakech,» — leads the media to his words.
Toledano also noted that the death of a businessman was a shock and great sadness for him.
Pozzo di Borgo came from a noble Corsican noble family. In 1993, he survived a paragliding accident that left him paralyzed.
The film, known at the Russian box office as «1+1», was based on the story of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo and his Algerian assistant Abdel Sellou, a former prisoner who helped him return to life. The film, released in 2011, was a huge success worldwide and gathered 20 million viewers.
